As the well connected 9to5Mac has learned, many Apple retail employees in both Canada and the United States are scheduled to be working overnight on Tuesday, July 24th to prepare for the release of OS X Mountain Lion. Apple has promised that the new operating system will be released in mid-July, and Apple will need to install OS X Mountain Lion on each of its display models Macs whenever it decides to release the major software update.

OS X Mountain will be available for $19.99 from the Mac App Store for existing Snow Leopard and Lion users, while anyone that has purchased a new Mac on or after June 11, 2012 will be eligible for a free upgrade through Appleā€™s up-to-date program. OS X Mountain Lion includes several new features such as Notification Center, AirPlay Mirroring, Game Center, Messages for Mac, Notes, Reminders Game Center and official Twitter integration.
