Before you dive into this interesting story about Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, please be aware that there is some crude language that might not necessarily be suitable for all audiences.
If you’re still with us, you’re about to hear about one of Ballmer’s more entertaining moments in the technology industry. Anything this guy does is hilarious.
Pop culture magazine Vanity Fair has detailed some interesting comments made by Ballmer regarding former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, and they truly reveal the bold and sometimes heated personality that the Microsoft CEO has.
Everyone already knows that Ballmer is quite the character, but the remarks he made are still quite surprising. In 2004, after hurling a chair, here is what Ballmer told an engineer that was leaving for Google:
“Fucking Eric Schmidt is a fucking pussy!” Ballmer yelled, according to the court document. “I’m going to fucking bury that guy! I have done it before and I will do it again. I’m going to fucking kill Google.”
Unfortunately for Ballmer, Google has grown into one of the most successful technology companies worldwide, centered upon its search engine, Android software and myriad of other Internet services that it provides. Microsoft, on the other hand, is only just beginning to emerge from some rather dark days — Windows Vista and the infamous Zune are just two examples — with the upcoming release of Windows 8 for PCs, Windows Phone 8 for smartphones and its Microsoft Surface tablet.
Perhaps this is a contributing reason as to why Forbes has recently declared Steve Ballmer as the worst CEO currently in charge, noting more specifically that he is the “worst CEO of a large publicly traded American company today.” Yes, even worse than the chief executives of Wal-Mart, Sears, Cisco and General Electric. But if you thought these comments by Ballmer were funny, watch him going crazy on stage.
