Google Asks You to Support Internet Freedom This Independence Day

Tomorrow is Independence Day in the United States and Google has published a video (above) today to help you remember what freedom means outside real life and in your digital one on the Internet. The search engine wants you to support the Internet’s freedom and openness, hoping to sustain such qualities forever.

More than any time in history, more people in more places have the ability to make their voices heard.

Just as we celebrate freedom, we need to celebrate the tools that support freedom.

Add your voice in support of a free and open Internet.

Such acts as SOPAPIPA, and the effect that net neutrality has are extremely important to the end user and the former two could severely damage everything you now use in this vast network. So show that you care this July 4th — for the good of the users. Also consider signing the Declaration of Internet Freedom while you’re at it.
