Well, that didn’t take long. The response to Google Chrome for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad has been phenomenal, with the web browser already claiming the No. 1 spot for free apps on the App Store. To put it simply, people are absolutely loving the Google Chrome web browser for iOS which, with an average rating of over 4.5 stars based on 3,750 reviews, is clearly a blow away hit.
Google Chrome for iOS features synchronization across all of your devices, such as your laptop, smartphone and tablet, an anonymous browsing mode called “Incognito,” and an unlimited number of tabs that can be swiped from edge-to-edge on iPad or flipped away at your pleasure. Best of all, the app is a free download from the App Store.
Interestingly, the Google Chrome for iOS app has already been this successful with little promotion from Apple. The web browser app does not appear under Apple’s “new and noteworthy” section in the App Store, when it clearly deserves that recognition, while the iPhone maker does not make any other mention of the Chrome web browser across its app distribution platform.
