I sit here on this Wednesday morning, on hold with one of the local Apple retail stores in my area. I have been calling the same five or six Apple Stores for the past two days, but have so far had no luck in getting my hands on the new MacBook Pro with Retina display. It looks like none of the stores in Canada have received their shipments of the notebook, or at least in my area. A quick call to the store in Buffalo, New York yielded disappointing results as well — they sold out yesterday morning.
The agonizing part of this whole situation is that, as I continue to be impatient, the shipping date estimates for the new MacBook Pro with Retina display are quickly becoming longer. While the notebook was originally available to order in timely fashion when it first appeared online, shipping estimates quickly bumped up to 7 – 10 days. Then, yesterday, it became 2 – 3 weeks.
Dare I say that today the shipping dates have slipped to 3 – 4 weeks as demand for the ultra-thin, ultra-powerful notebook remains sky-high. I’ll keep being persistent, however, and hopefully I will get my hands on one in-stores. At least a few of the stores I have been calling are now guessing that they will receive their shipments in about a week from now.
