Apple Debuts Thinner MacBook Pro with Retina Display

Apple announced today an entirely new MacBook Pro at the WWDC 2012 keynote in San Francisco. The new MacBook Pro is ultra thin at just 0.71 inches — and just 4.46 pounds — which is one-quarter thinner than the previous models. The new MacBook Pro is now about as thin as the MacBook Air. Better yet, the new MacBook Pro has an absolutely stunning Retina display with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels across its 15.4-inch display. That’s 220 pixels per inch and 5,184,000 pixels altogether, and the MacBook Pro is now the “world’s highest resolution notebook display.”

The new display reduces glare by 75-percent. iPhoto, Mail, Safari, and several other applications have all been updated as well. Inside the new MacBook Pro is the latest Intel 2.3 GHz quad-core processor and 8 GB of RAM. The notebook also has 256 GB of flash storage and boasts 7 hours of battery life. This new MacBook Pro with Retina display is positioned above the spec-bumped 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pros at a price of $2,199. This new model ships today.
