As noted by MacRumors, a member on Chinese forum WeiPhone has posted a leaked photo showing purported specs for the upcoming 13.3-inch MacBook Pro. If these specs are indeed true, the new base model MacBook Pro has a new 2.5GHz dual-core Ivy Bridge processor, Intel HD Graphics 4000 GPU, USB 3.0, and Bluetooth 4.0.
Asides from that, the notebook still has a 1280 x 800 pixels resolution screen instead of a crystal clear Retina display. The leaked photo reveals the same memory, hard drive, and SuperDrive specifications as well, suggesting that Apple has not redesigned the base model MacBook Pro to be thinner.
While some people might be disappointed that this leaked photo does not reveal the rumored thinner MacBook Pro with Retina display, 9to5Mac reminds everyone that the rumor was specifically regarding the 15-inch MacBook Pro and not the 13.3-inch base model.
Apple could be planning to offer the new base model MacBook Pro at a more competitive price point by giving it a modest spec bump instead of a complete design overhaul. This photo has not been verified for its accuracy and only time will tell what Apple has up its sleeves. The opening WWDC keynote, where new Macs are expected to be announced, takes place on Monday, June 11th at 10:00 AM Pacific.
