This image, which has shown up in Chinese iPhone repair site iFixYouri’s database, could be the first look at the back of the next-generation iPhone. It has been long rumored that Apple might include a type of metal casing on the back of the iPhone, and this image appears to match that description. The casing also reveals a smaller dock connector, yet another widely rumored feature that the next-generation iPhone is said to have.
The supplier has confirmed that this is not a Liquidmetal iPhone, but rather aluminum alloy. Apple is said to be using the extra room on the bottom of the iPhone to improve the quality of the speakers. Interestingly, the new iPhone is expected to come in at least two additional colors over traditional black and white, as spotted by the supplier. iFixYouri does have some credibility, as it was first to report that the iPad would be released in white.
