‘Absinthe 2.0′ iOS 5.1.1 Untethered Jailbreak Released

The iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak for both A4- and A5-powered devices including the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, original iPad, iPad 2, new iPad, and third- and fourth-generation iPod touch is finally here.

The jailbreak Dream Team highlighted by iOS hacker pod2g and MuscleNerd has released the Absinthe 2.0 jailbreaking tool for Windows, OS X, and Linux to carry out the new jailbreak process.

The following devices have been tested and confirmed to work with the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak:

  • iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4 CDMA, iPhone 4S
  • iPad 1
  • iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iPad 2 GSM, iPad 2 CDMA
  • iPad 3 Wi-Fi, iPad 3 CDMA, iPad 3 Global
  • iPod touch 3G, iPod touch 4G
  • Apple TV 2

The third-generation Apple TV is currently not compatible with this jailbreak, and support for iPad 2,4 is coming soon. Users that wish to donate to the hardworking jailbreak developers can do so via PayPal by following this link. Although a monetary donation is optional, it is the least that users who jailbreak can do to show their support for the iOS hackers that work endlessly to provide you with root access to your iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
