Microsoft Office for iOS and Android to Launch in November

Microsoft will be launching its Office productivity suite for the iPad and Android tablets in November, according to Jonathan S. Geller for BGR. Geller says that his reliable source has seen Microsoft Office running firsthand on the iPad, and notes that it looks very similar to the version that The Daily leaked to the public a few months ago.

The iPhone and iPod touch could also get a mobile version of Microsoft Office in the near future, as the iPad version is simply named “Office for iOS.” This will be an interesting move by Microsoft, considering the number of Windows 8 tablets that are to be released over the next year or so. Microsoft could have used the Office suite to promote sales of those tablets, but instead will aim to make profits on the sales of Office for iOS and Android.
