Eugene Kaspersky, speaking with The Register:
“We as a security company are not able to develop true endpoint security for iOS,” Kaspersky told The Register in Sydney today. “That will mean disaster for Apple,” he opined, as malware will inevitably strike iOS in the future.
Two ways to view this, in my opinion. One can believe that Kaspersky is genuinely worried about the future of Apple’s iOS platform. The other way this can be taken is that Kaspersky is simply doing what any good CEO would do in trying to help open up a vast new market of prey for his company to exploit.
In other news, the antivirus industry continues to cry wolf and lure people in to paying for software that isn’t absolutely necessary.
