The iPad as an Educational Tool in the Classroom

iFans forum member JKJones tells us that his high school is currently considering enrolling in a pilot program through Apple’s educational division, which would introduce iPads into the classroom as digital textbooks. He also notes that his computer science teacher will be supplying the classroom with Macs and applying for an Apple developers license so that students are able to use Xcode.

Last January, Apple hosted an educational event centered on the introduction of iBooks 2, iTunes U for iPad, and iBooks Author for Mac. iBooks 2 was updated with a new section for interactive textbooks on the iPad, which Apple’s promotional video explained in rather heartwarming fashion. We know that JKJones is not alone, as Apple continues to venture into the classroom with its consumer electronics for educational purposes. Has Apple revolutionized your classroom yet?
