Mac App Store Reaches 10,000 Apps

As noted by MacGeneration, the Mac App Store has officially crossed the 10,000 available apps plateau. App Store discovery website AppShopper currently indexes 10,334 apps in the Mac App Store, which is still a far cry from the over 600,000 apps available in the App Store for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.

Nevertheless, the Mac App Store has come a long way since it was introduced to OS X Snow Leopard through Software Update in January 2011. Apple now uses the Mac App Store as its primary platform for distributing software, even for its OS X Lion operating system. Do you use the Mac App Store? Perhaps the HackStore better suits your needs.
