iOS hacker pod2g has added a poll to this personal blog asking the jailbreaking community if the jailbreak that he is working on should be held off until Apple publicly releases iOS 6. The infamous hacker had just recently tweeted that the iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak could still be one or two months away from public release, but perhaps he thinks it is better not to waste this jailbreaking exploit on such an insignificant iOS version. After all, users can already obtain an untethered jailbreak on iOS 5.0.1.
While iPhone 4S, iPad 2, and new iPad owners will have to keep waiting for a potential iOS 5.1 jailbreak, older device users have a slight advantage. That’s because older A4-powered devices, such as the iPhone 4 and latest iPod touch, already have the luxury of a tethered jailbreak on iOS 5.1 courtesy of the iPhone Dev-Team’s popular redsn0w jailbreaking utility. But, even older device users are unlikely to get an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1 if pod2g and his fellow jailbreak developers decide to hold off on releasing this jailbreak until iOS 6. Do you think it’s worth the wait?
