Highlighting the Jailbreaking Community at iFans

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again. Here at iFans, we truly appreciate the tremendous amount of effort that the jailbreaking community puts towards improving the iOS ecosystem beyond the limitations set by Apple. Jailbreaking is an integral part of our history here at iFans, and has continued to play an important role since our site opened just under five years ago.

With that being said, we wanted to take a moment to highlight some of the work that our jailbreaking community has done here at iFans. In our iOS Jailbreak & Cydia section, iFans user jonathanl374 has compiled an excellent list of jailbreak tweaks and widgets for Notification Center in iOS 5, while xXrkidXx has posted how to make your own jailbreak PrefPane and how to send native SMS messages on your iPod touch. And that’s just the beginning.

xX-SicKsKiLZz-Xx has an informative how to guide on entering DFU Mode without home or power buttons, while knosseir has written the ultimate jailbreaking guide for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. And once you have jailbroken your iOS device, you’ll want to head over to our dedicated Cydia section for the latest jailbreak tweaks and mods — a number of them are pretty awesome.

If customization is more of your thing, don’t fret. In our iOS Themes and Customization section at iFans, we have a number of great themes such as Zune HD Ultimate 2.0 and Inevitable by iFans users Appman and ipodtouch2guser respectively. Check out our releases section for other great themes, and don’t be shy to make a theme request of your own. And our official iPhone and iPod touch screenshot thread will surely peak your interest.

Why do you jailbreak? And if you don’t, here is 100 reasons why you should.
