As reported by RTÉ, Apple will be creating 500 new jobs at their European headquarters in Cork, Ireland over the next 18 months. The Cupertino California-based corporation will be building a new three-story office building right next to its current plant in the city to provide for the recent expansion of Europe, the Middle East, India, and Africa.
Apple, Inc. has been in Cork for 30 years now and currently employs some 2,800 residents of the city. Just less than a year ago, they created 350 new jobs in the same city, setting up a new office in the downtown region of Cork. It is estimated that the city itself had 119,230 occupants, with 198,582 in the urban areas.
