Upwards of 100,000 Macs are Still Infected with ‘Flashback’ Malware

As illustrated by Symantec, around 100,000 Macs remain infected with the “Flashback” malware that received widespread coverage a few weeks ago. That’s a staggering decrease from the original 600,000 Macs that were estimated to be suffering from the botnet malware, but is still reason for concern. Apple has released a number of software updates that address a Java vulnerability used by “Flashback,” and has also issued an official removal tool for the malware.
