Blogsy for iPad Gets Retina Optimization, Tumblr Support, and More

For the past year, whenever I want to write something on WordPress using my iPad, I’ve used Fomola’s truly great Blogsy. There’s really nothing out there like it; even WordPress’ official iOS app cannot compare. Blogsy has everything you can imagine and is growing everyday, which brings us to today’s update. With Blogsy 3.4 Dragon, the developer has not only made the app look crystal clear on Apple’s new iPad, but they’ve also brought Tumblr support to it — meaning you can now create Tumblr entries on your iPad with ease.

But that’s not near all the developers have included in this release. One of the other headlining features is Vimeo support for when you want to insert one of these into a post. Instead of the traditional copying of HTML embed code, you can now simply drag and drop the video into the post for quick insertion.

Other notable additions include featured images, custom fields, access to the WordPress Media Library on your website, support for dragging and dropping PDF documents and audio files, the option to keep a local draft in case you don’t get a chance to save it on the server, optional Flickr image sizes, and so much more. There are the usual bug fixes as well, numbering in over 19 total.

Here’s a video from Fomola describing the update:

If you don’t already own Blogsy, then I highly recommend it at just $4.99 – no, that’s not expensive and these developers work very hard to bring free updates, so don’t complain. It’s the ultimate blogger’s tool with support for every major platform out there, save for the less popular Squarespace which will probably be supported eventually. If you already own the app, then go grab the update!
