Apple Preparing to Revamp its Online Store, Beginning with Educational Section

AppleInsider informs us today of a new banner that is displayed across the top of Apple’s educational online store, advising customers to prepare for the launch of “the new Apple Store.” Apple promises a dramatically simpler user interface that makes it easy to browse and order products, while noting that the transition to the new store will be easy. For now, it appears that these changes will be limited to the K-12 educational section of Apple’s online store, but the transition could eventually be rolled out storewide.

“Apple is launching a new online store, which is your tool to shop and place orders with Apple. Proposal creation, order status, and a dramatically simplified user interface will make it easier to do business with Apple — all in a secure and reliable environment. Your current Apple ID and password will continue to work. In the coming weeks, you will receive more information about the store’s features, benefits, and launch date.”
