Remember last week when we told you about Google’s plans to enter the tablet market this year in partnership with Samsung and ASUS? Well, you could be looking at the search engine’s first tablet above. Pocketnow believes that the render above is a press image for Google’s unreleased Nexus tablet, but they do not know any other details about the device.
Based on the render, the tablet has a full-sized SD slot, a micro-USB connector and a micro-HDMI port. The image is at least three weeks old based on the Android Market icon, since that platform was rebranded as Google Play in early March. The Nexus tablet is expected to enter production this month ahead of a June release, which could time nicely with Google’s annual I/O conference scheduled for June 27th. Do you think Google could release a legitimate iPad competitor, or has the window of opportunity already closed?
