Apple’s iPad 3rd generation has made a swift recovery from the 2-3 week shipping times and is now shipping in just 1-2 weeks. It would seem that the corporation has managed to ramp up production just enough to manufacture enough units for a perfect launch. Originally, the tablet was shipping to arrive by March 16th, which was its set launch date. However, times had increased only a few days after the launch to ship on the 19th, followed by a 2-3 week delay a few days after.
The new iPad has been a huge success, selling over three million units in the first four days alone. Additionally, AT&T reported a single day record for iPad sales and activation on March 16th. It took Apple 28 days to sell one million of their original iPad units, though demand has significantly increased since then.
