AT&T Sets Single-Day Record for iPad Sales, Activations

Just hours after Apple’s CEO Tim Cook announced that the new iPad experienced a record-breaking weekend for sales, AT&T has too revealed that it has set a new single-day record on Friday for iPad sales and activations on its network. The news was broke by AT&T spokesman Seth Bloom this morning on Twitter, although no specific sales figures have been announced yet…

Considering that AT&T has carried the iPad since its inception in 2010, this is truly an accomplishment for the long-time exclusive Apple carrier. These record-breaking numbers are not surprising for Apple, despite facing early criticism that the new iPad simply wasn’t as groundbreaking as expected and barely worthy upgrading to. After all, several people were skeptical about the iPhone 4S, which has gone on to smash numerous sales records and other milestones in just six months.
