New iPad Caused ‘Record Weekend’ of Sales

During this morning’s conference call, an analyst asked if Apple would be issuing a press release that contained information about their latest iPad launch. Instead of answering his question, Apple redirected the attention to their dividend announcement and simply said that the new iPad has caused a “record weekend” in sales and that they are “thrilled with it.”

The iPad 3rd generation launched on March 16th in ten countries around the globe, bringing the Retina display from the iPhone, a quad-core graphics processor, 4G LTE technology for AT&T and Verizon in the U.S., and 1 GB of RAM. Apple will likely announce exactly how many units were sold during their Q2 earnings later this year.
