Amazon today updated their Kindle reading app for iOS to version 3.0, bringing optimization for the new iPad’s beautiful 2048 by 1536 pixel Retina display and a new interface for the library view. This new interface organizes books into either the “Cloud” or “Device” tab, depending on where the eBook is stored. In the Cloud tab, you will find all your content that is stored in the cloud, while the Device tab shows all the content that is stored locally on your iOS device. Any content from the Device tab can be added to the Cloud tab with a single tap.
Additionally, Amazon says that Kindle 3.0 features “optimized” text for Apple’s latest iPad’s Retina display, meaning that it should appear just as clear as in iBooks, though the app itself is significantly smaller. Kindle 3.0 is 18.3 MB in size and available for free right now on the App Store, so go grab it.
