Brief Bits: New iPad Has More Memory Than Xbox 360

During today’s Apple media event, it was said that the new iPad has more memory and higher screen resolution than an Xbox 360 or PS3. While we will still have to wait for the folks at iFixit to tear down the new iPad for the actual RAM specification, it’s still interesting to know that the third-generation tablet has more memory than the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3…

Presumably, since the comparison was made to gaming consoles, the memory that Apple was referring to was for the graphics processor. The Xbox 360 has 512MB of GDDR3 RAM clocked at 700 MHz, while the PlayStation 3 has 256 MB of system memory and 256 MB for video.
