AppleCare+ Released for iPad, Covers Accidental Damage

Last year, Apple introduced its new AppleCare+ warranty program that protects the iPhone from up to two incidents of accidental damage due to mishandling. And, as of today, Apple has officially extended this premium warranty offering to the iPad. For the iPhone, the warranty costs an initial $99 plus an additional $49 service fee that is charged each time you make a claim of accidental damage.

You must sign up for AppleCare+ within 30 days of purchasing your new iPad. Exact pricing for the iPad plan is unknown, but it’s not guaranteed to be the same as the iPhone program. Also, this warranty does not provide coverage for wear and tear, theft, misplacement, reckless, abusive, willful or intentional conduct associated with using the iPad.
