Apple Raises 3G/4G App Store Download Size Limit to 50 MB

Even though it wasn’t mentioned in today’s keynote, Apple increased the download size limit on App Store purchases via 3G/4G LTE. Instead of the traditional 20 MB limit, they have extended it to 50 MB, which actually covers many more apps than the former…

This will be highly beneficial to the new iPad 4G LTE users since the apps will be much larger with Retina display optimization and all. So, if you’re used to that horrible limit of 20 MB, even on an iPhone, you will now be able to download more than twice the size without exceeding Apple’s new limit. Hopefully you’ll enjoy the extra bandwidth for a change, it should give you some more freedom to download good apps away from home and coffee shops.
