Apple Updates iLife and iWork Suites for iOS

Hiding in the shadows of the new iPad launch, Apple has announced that it has updated iMovie and the iWork suite of apps for iOS. The update to iMovie includes support for the new iPad’s Retina Display, advanced editing and planning tools, plus the ability to cut fancy trailers as you’re recording video. The updated version of iMovie will include nine stylized genre templates and more…

With the new iMovie app, 1080p movies can now be shared with the Apple TV by using AirStream; furthermore, they can also be shared on YouTube, Facebook, and Vimeo. The iWork suite for iOS, which includes Numbers, Pages, and Keynote, will also be updated with support for the new iPad’s Retina Display, but that seems to be one of the only major changes known at this time. iMovie and iWork for iOS have yet to be refreshed on the App Store, but will be shortly. These updates are free for preexisting users of these apps.

GarageBand for iOS is also receiving an update that includes Jam Sessions, Smart Strings, a note editor, iCloud support, and sharing abilities.
