Apple Reduces Price of Base Model iPad 2 to Just $399

Ahead of the launch of the new iPad, which will officially become available on March 16th, Apple has slashed the price of the 16GB, Wi-Fi model iPad 2 to just $399. Additionally, the iPhone maker is now offering the 3G model iPad 2, also in 16GB capacity, for just $529. These prices are surely more competitive with Amazon’s Kindle Fire and Barnes & Noble’s Kindle Tablet, both $199 tablets, but it’s not quite as much of a price drop as we expected. Nevertheless, it’s still a good deal and makes the iPad 2 much more affordable.
