Apple marketing executive Phil Schiller has pegged March 16th, or next Friday, as the date the new iPad will be available online and in stores. Pre-orders are starting today for the new tablet, which starts at $499 for the base 16GB Wi-Fi model and increases to $599 and $699 for the 32GB and 64GB Wi-Fi models respectively. The new 4G models, which replace the current iPad Wi-Fi + 3G lineup, are available for $130 more each. That’s $629 for the 4G model in 16GB, $729 for 32GB, and $829 for 64GB. It will be available in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia on launch day.
