Apple Sold 172 Million iOS Devices in 2011

During today’s media event, Apple’s chief executive Tim Cook announced that the company sold 172 million iOS devices in 2011. These “post-PC devices,” including the iPod, iPhone, and iPad, made up 76% of Apple’s revenues in Q4 of 2011. Tim Cook stated that these devices are a vital piece of Apple’s success and that they have great venues such as over 350 retail stores to bring these products to consumers hands.
