As part of the 25 billion app celebration, Apple has posted the top 25 all-time most popular iPhone and iPad apps on iTunes. As you may have guessed, titles such as Angry Birds, Doodle Jump, Facebook, and Words With Friends lead the pack, but if you just picked up your first iDevice, the list is a great resource to see what apps your home screen is missing.
Judging by the top paid apps, iPad users are much more willing to pay over $.99 for an app. The mobile iWork suite and other productivity apps seem to be a must-have for table users, whereas iPhone users favor quick games and communication utilities like Messenger, Skype, and Viber. Getting real work done on a tablet is still somewhat cumbersome, so we hope that Apple introduces more powerful multitasking features in the next release of iOS to allow the iPad to replace laptops for daily use.
