According to Chronic Wire, the Gold Master build of iOS 5.1 has passed internal quality assurance tests and is now ready for public release. The new iOS version is expected to be released alongside the iPad 3 tomorrow, and is rumored to feature Japanese language support in Siri, updated lock screen controls, and more.
The beta releases of iOS 5.1 patched the Corona exploit, so it may be a few weeks until the newer firmware is hacked. Of course, the new hardware in the iPad 3 will likely make it impossible to use current exploits, so a new vulnerability will need to be discovered. This could take days, weeks, or even months, so don’t count on jailbreaking your shiny new tablet the day it’s released.
