Square Point-of-Sale Register for iPad Released

Square, the company best known for their tiny credit card reader for the iPhone, has released a companion register app aimed at small businesses and stores. Square Register is a dead simple and intuitive point of sale application designed for the iPad. It is capable of replacing clunky old registers, and offers support for custom inventory, tip calculation, receipt management, and even integrates a loyalty program to entice customers into coming back…

Managers can use Square’s detailed analytics tool to graph data and view sale history on the web, and individual employees can be granted access to specific features, like adding new products to the register or viewing customer history. Many stores still use antiquated registers and clumsy point of sale programs, so the market is ripe for new tech. Old iPads can be had for just a few hundred dollars, and the simplicity gained with Square Register is well worth the cost.
