Photos of iPad 3 Front Glass Surface, No Notable Changes

There have been numerous photos of proportioned iPad 3 parts in the last few weeks, but today Apple.pro provides a bit of insight into the device’s front panel. The Chinese blog speaks of a post (you must register to view it) on a micro-blogging site known as Sina Weibo that contains an image of what is claimed to be the iPad 3′s front panel of glass and digitizer. This component seems to be uniform to that of the iPad 2, except for a slightly longer ribbon cable that extends up the side of the display…

In a different post on Sina Weibo, the same author asserts that the A5X CPU, which appeared in a leaked photo yesterday, is dual-core and that the iPad 3 will support Siri. This goes against all previous reports that have claimed the tablet will include a quad-core processor. In addition, the post claims that the tablet will launch with iOS 5.1, be capable of recording 1080p video on the rear camera, and release in the U.S. in mid-March. France, Germany, Japan, and the UK will receive the tablet in April and other markets like China and Hong Kong will get it by June 1st.
