Apple to Issue Monthly Reports on Supplier Working Conditions

At the Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet Conference, Tim Cook addressed the ongoing working condition issue that plagues their suppliers overseas. One of Apple’s primary component manufacturers, Foxconn, has been taking a lot of heat lately for hiring underage workers and having an unusually high suicide rate, and human rights activists place much of the blame on Apple…

Apple has made their opposition to the poor conditions public, and will be actively fighting unreasonable overtime, child labor, and more. They will be posting monthly reports online for full transparency, and we hope that other companies follow suit to completely eliminate this issue.

We believe that every worker has a right to a fair and safe work environment free of discrimination where they can earn competitive wages and they can voice their concerns freely. Apple suppliers must live up to this to do business with Apple.
