Apple Gives Pegatron Ultimatum

China’s Commercial Times reports that Apple has forced Pegatron, an OEM responsible for manufacturing the iPhone 4S and MacBook Air, to decide between discontinuing production of the Asus Zenbook or loosing their iPhone manufacturing contract. If you take a look at the Zenbook, it is obvious why Apple is irritated: the ultrabook shares a unibody design nearly identical to the Air.

Apple is currently battling Samsung in the court rooms over the Galaxy line of devices, and while the Cupertino lawyers haven’t targeted Asus yet, it’s possible that they will seek legal action if the blatant imitation continues.
