Personally, I have always found typing on the iPad or iPad 2 to be a rather inconvenient and tedious task. Thankfully, Apple introduced a split keyboard for iPad as a new feature of iOS 5.

Automatically, the iPad keyboard will split into two smaller areas on the far sides of the screen. The split keyboard works with both portrait and landscape modes, and can even be dragged up and down on the screen by holding and dragging the “hide keyboard” button in the bottom right corner.
