According to the CEO of SaskTel, the carrier’s upcoming 3G network will line up perfectly with the “new iPhone” that is supposedly slated for this June. SaskTel is a minor carrier based out of Saskatchewan, Canada.
“The good news is that (Apple) is coming out with a new version of the iPhone in the June time-frame and they’re going to put us on that. So we’re quite excited about that.”
Who didn’t expect this was going to happen? After all, an iPhone has been released each summer for the past 3 years. The original iPhone debuted in June 2007 followed by iPhone 3G (July 2008) and, most recently, iPhone 3GS (June 2009). Additionally, this date corresponds well with the latest rumor to surface regarding a potential Apple event to be held on June 22nd. For those of you considering purchasing a new iPhone 3GS, it would be a wise decision to hold off until late July, at the earliest, as a precaution.
Tip: 4G refers to 4th generation, not a 4G network.
