Google has updated Docs for Android with an improved tablet UI and the ability to access documents offline. Documents that are selected for offline access will also auto-update to the latest version while on WiFi, so you don’t have to worry about working with an old version. Additionally, tablet users will now be able to view high-resolution versions of their documents and navigate using swiping gestures.
The app is still lacking a few major features, like the ability to edit documents natively, but nevertheless, we’re glad that Google hasn’t completely abandoned it. As Ice Cream Sandwich becomes more prevalent on devices, we should start seeing more major overhauls of Google’s native Android apps.
