iOS developer Alex Zielenski has released a new tweak in Cydia called Zeppelin, which allows for you to easily replace your carrier logo text with custom icons such as those for Space Invaders, Superman and Assassin’s Creed. In Settings, under the new Zeppelin section, you can choose from a default list of custom icons to set. There is also a respring button that must be tapped in order for the custom icons to be applied. While there isn’t a simplified way of adding your own custom images yet, Zielenski has a handy manual method that works effectively…
To install your own logos
1. On your local machine create a folder titled for your theme name.
2. Put images in it titled as follows: silver.png for the silver bar, black.png for the black bar, and etched.png for notification center. Make sure to add @2x to the file name if it is a retina icon.
3. Copy this folder from your computer to /Library/Zeppelin
4. Open Settings > Zeppelin and it should appear in the list
Zeppelin is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, and has been tested on both iOS 4 and iOS 5. The tweak is available for free in Cydia under the ModMyI repository or as a direct download.
