A source for 9to5Mac claims that Foxconn is about to begin production of the iPhone 5. As usual with Apple products, no exact details of the device are known, but the employee says that the sample devices all share a few common features, including a 4+” screen. But, none of the samples share the iPhone 4/4S form factor or rumored tear-drop shape, so we should expect to see a brand-new design. The production time table suggests that Apple is back on their Summer release schedule, so if the source is correct, we should see the new model around WWDC.
Previous rumors hint that the device will be powered by a quad-core A6 processor and come standard with LTE capability, but there is no telling what Apple will have up their sleeve.
