Apple’s Macintosh Turns 28 Years Old Today

Happy birthday, Macintosh! It has now been twenty-eight years since Steve Jobs introduced the original Macintosh on January 24th, 1984. The launch of the iconic desktop computer was accompanied by a famous Superbowl commercial that only aired a single time on national television.

Ironically, a bow-tied Steve Jobs was just twenty-eight years old himself when he demoed the computer on stage in front of an audience of about 3000 people. It is nostalgic to watch Steve Jobs become overwhelmed and emotional because of the overly cheery crowd. The Mac has celebrated twenty-eight birthdays, but this one is truly significant because it truly represents the legacy of Steve Jobs.
