We all know that the A5 jailbreak is imminent, but the Dream-Team has posted a situation report for those of you who are anxiously waiting for the ability to run Cydia on your iPhone 4S. The team is in the final stages of testing, and will be releasing a tool to the public extremely soon.
According to their latest blog post, a Mac, PC, and command line interface are ready to go; the latter will primarily be used for debugging and walking users through the process step-by-step, and has over 20 options for nailing down any issues. But, an updated build of redsn0w that includes the native Apple iTunes libraries will be the go-to method for jailbreaking.
Supported devices and firmwares are listed below…
The supported firmware versions will be:
- iPhone4S: 5.0 (9A334), 5.0.1 (9A405) and the “other” 5.0.1 (9A406)
- iPad2: 5.0.1 (9A405)
iPhone users looking to unlock their device should hit the source for the recommended upgrade/downgrade process.
