Apple Launching “GarageBand for e-books” During Event This Week?

According to sources for Ars Technica, Apple plans to unveil a “GarageBand for e-books” at this Thursday’s education event in New York City. There have been previous rumors that the event would be focused on books, but like so many of Apple’s releases, the exact details were unknown. As Ars mentions, current eBook publishing tools leave much to be desired, so there is a huge market for software that could facilitate digitizing novels and textbooks. Audio and video support give eBooks a huge edge over their dead-tree counterparts, and Apple’s new mystery tool could make it much easier for  publishers to create digital versions of their books with embedded content.
