Apple Posts List of Suppliers

In light of recent events at the Foxconn factory in China, Apple has posted a supplier list of the companies that play a part in manufacturing components for Apple products. Apple is usually very private, so this is the first time this information has been released to the public. Apple is making sure that the parts manufactures they deal with are upheld to high health, safety, and ethical standards, and will be conducting audits of their supplier’s factories.

Apple’s updated Supplier Responsibility page outlines the steps that they will be taking to address human rights and environmental issues. We hope that this transparency will cause more people to be aware of the poor working conditions at factories overseas, and put an end to the tragedies that are occurring.

Apple is committed to the highest standards of social responsibility across our worldwide supply chain. We insist that all of our suppliers provide safe working conditions, treat workers with dignity and respect, and use environmentally responsible manufacturing processes. Our actions — from thorough site audits to industry-leading training programs — demonstrate this commitment.
