iOS hacker pod2g has provided the Chronic Dev Team with the details to his jailbreaking method for A4-equipped iOS devices, allowing for him to focus his energy and time on a jailbreak for A5 devices. The Chronic Dev Team will finish, test, integrate and release the A4 jailbreak as soon as possible. Apple’s A4 chip powers the original iPad, iPhone 4, and iPod touch 4G, while the A5 is found inside the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S.
Both of the jailbreaks, when they are inevitably released, will be untethered for A4- and A5-powered devices running iOS 5. Pod2g adds that sharing his jailbreaking method for A4 devices with the Chronic Dev Team will allow for all current iOS devices to be jailbroken simultaneously before Apple patches the vulnerability. Patience is a virtue.
