HTC Has Already Fixed a Patent Issue Within Android

The International Trade Commission ruled on Monday that HTC was violating two claims of a patent that belongs to Apple, while simultaneously issuing an import ban effective April 19, 2012 for all infringing HTC device within the United States.

The affected devices would have included the Droid Incredible and Evo 4G, however HTC and Google have already created a workaround that removes the patent infringing issue within the Android operating system, according to Bloomberg. It is unknown when HTC and Google will release this new patched version of Android.

“HTC Corp. (2498) has already completed a technical workaround to skirt a U.S. agency ruling that found a user interface in some handsets infringed an Apple Inc. (AAPL) patent.”
