Apple’s Preliminary Request to Ban Galaxy Devices in US Denied

Due to the similarity between the iPad and the Galaxy Tab, Apple was able to get Samsung’s slate banned from being sold in Australia (until recently, that is). But, Cupertino’s finest lawyers were unable to do the same state-side. On Friday, a U.S. district judge denied Apple’s preliminary request to ban Samsung Galaxy devices in the U.S., so the company will be allowed to sell their smartphones and tablets as usual. Samsung shouldn’t let their guard down quite yet as it’s possible that Apple will get their way in a later trial, but for the time being, let’s hope that they focus on the U.S. launch of the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon.
