CyanogenMod Team Issues Progress Update on CM9

Cyanogen has posted a situation report regarding the progress of the upcoming CM9, which will be based on Ice Cream Sandwich. The good news is that a few devices already have the latest version of Android up-and-running as alpha (like the Nexus S), but sadly, the team has nuked support for the original Droid. Planed features include a revamped music app, file manager, and launcher. Cyanogen never announces ETAs, but CM9 is expected to launch in January, but if you don’t want to wait for a stable release, you can alway download the nightly builds of CM9 for your device at XDA.
